2K Hires Popular Battle Royale Producer to Revitalize Challenged Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently working on the anticipated third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.

Management Transition Follows Mixed Feedback

Brinkman steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to the game's lackluster unveiling last autumn.

Recently, 2K president David Ismailer updated staff about this organizational change through an official communication, which stressed that early feedback sessions had indicated the requirement for a distinct vision.

The president noted that the developers is now overhauling the project with a refreshed focus, aiming to address community desires.

A Pattern of Key Hires

This announcement follows a similar action taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to work on the beloved franchise development group.

Here is the complete message from the president's communication:

Hello Everyone—

I know you all just finished your town hall - I hope you’re as enthusiastic as I am with the positive developments. Last time I sent you all a note, I expressed the following: “I believe in this group. You all are some of the most motivated and talented developers we have had the opportunity to collaborate with - and we’re eager for that partnership to persist.”

Through your commitment and adaptability, especially over the last year, you continue to prove that.

The community feedback from last autumn’s Project ETHOS testing phase was enlightening. It affirmed the potential of a roguelike shooter but indicated we still had refinements needed. It uncovered the necessity for a sharper vision.

It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve advanced. You took the feedback to mind and reimagined Project ETHOS with a renewed vision - one that’s poised to achieve its promise to our fans.

The trust in Project ETHOS increases every day. To further the incredible progress you’ve made, I am thrilled to welcome the new hire as the new Director of 31st Union. After several months of talks, he officially joins us on the specified date.

His leadership and background in the competitive gaming space is considerable, having dedicated the recent years developing and managing some of the most popular franchises in gaming, including the acclaimed shooter, and most recently, Apex Legends.

Please join me in welcoming him next week. We are all eager to keep observing the development of Project ETHOS in the weeks to come.

The President

"Challenge the rivals with unique powers, challenges, and tests that change every match. Do you safely extract with your valuable rewards? Alternatively go big, gamble everything, and trust your squad can earn top ranking? The option is yours."

Project Ethos does not have an confirmed debut schedule or consoles, but players can look forward to additional details as development advances.
