I will stamp all over 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
