Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
Success also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in that event earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an improved service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional championship, took control to force a third set.
The opponent defended four initial chances in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
